Corrosion resistance:
Titanium has strong corrosion resistance in many media, especially in neutral and oxidizing media. It can also be used in some dilute reducing acids, such as nitric acid with various concentrations from normal temperature to boiling point. It has good corrosion resistance to most alkali solutions, such as barium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide saturated solution at room temperature, but can not be used for boiling sodium hydroxide solution. Titanium is completely free from corrosion in seawater, and most organic acids are also very corrosion resistant (except formic acid and oxalic acid). It has excellent corrosion resistance in wet chlorine gas, chlorite, hypochlorite and other chloride solutions. The corrosion resistance increases with the increase of pH value.
